นายสมศักดิ์ จังตระกุล ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดขอนแก่น เปิดเผยว่า จากสถานการณ์การแพร่ระบาดของเชื้อไวรัสโควิด-19 ที่กำลังเกิดขึ้นระลอกใหม่ในขณะนี้ โดยเฉพาะกับการแพร่กระจายของสายพันธุ์โอไมคอนทำให้การประชุมคณะกรรมการควบคุมโรคติดต่อวาระเร่งด่วน ได้มีมติเพื่อสอดรับและยกระดับมาตรการจากสถานการณ์ที่กำลังเกิดขึ้น ด้วยการอนุมัติให้มีการเปิดโรงพยาบาลสนาม จ.ขอนแก่น 3 แห่งประกอบด้วย รพ.สนาม กองพลทหารม้าที่ 3 (พล ม.3) อ.น้ำพอง,รพ.สนาม พุทธมณฑลอีสาน และ รพ.สนามวิทยาลัยป้องกันและบรรเทาสาธารณภัยเขต 6 ขอนแก่น เพื่อให้การบริหารจัดการเตียงรักษาผู้ป่วยและการดำเนินงานทางการแพทย์เป็นไปอย่างคล่องตัวนั้นเป็นไปอย่างรวดเร็วและทันต่อสถานการณ์ เนื่องจาก รพ.สนามขอนแก่น แห่งที่ 26 มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ในความรับผิดชอบของ รพ.ศรีนครินทร์ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มข.นั้น รับผู้ป่วยเข้ารับการรักษาเต็มพิกัดแล้ว
“ยืนยันว่าเตียงรองรับผู้ป่วยและฝ่ายการสาธารณสุขของจังหวัดนั้นพร้อมต่อการรักษาและรับมือกับสถานการณ์ที่กำลังเกิดขึ้น ซึ่งขณะนี้ขอนแก่น มีเตียงรองรับผู้ป่วยรวมทั้งสิ้น 3,892 เตียง ใช้งานอยู่ในขณะนี้ 2,369 เตียง ขณะนี้ยอดจำนวนผู้ป่วยสะสมของจังหวัดล่าสุดวันนี้รวม 2,369 ราย และมีผู้เสียชีวิต 1 ราย อย่างไรก็ตามด้วยสถานการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นคณะกรรมการควบคุมโรคติดต่อจึงมีมติในการสั่งห้ามจำหน่ายเครื่องดื่มที่มีแอลกอฮอล์ในร้านอาหารต่างๆทั้งจังหวัดต่ออีก 7 วัน คือตั้งแต่วันที่ 7-17 ม.ค. รวมทั้งพื้นที่นำร่องท่องเที่ยวหรือบลูโซน 7 จังหวัดที่ต้องยึดตามมติคระกรรมการควบคุมโรคดังกล่าวด้วย สถานศึกษาจากทุกสถาบันยังคงมีกำหนดการปิดการเรียนการสอนต่อไปและจัดระบบการเรียนการสอนแบบออนไลน์ต่อไปจนกว่าจะมีคำสั่งเปลี่ยนแปลง ขณะที่งานเทศกาลไหมนานาชาติฯที่กำหนดจัดกิจกรรมในช่วงปลายเดือน ม.ค.นี้ให้เลื่อนออกไปก่อน เช่นเดียวกันกับงานแข่งขันกลองยาวประเพณีของ เทศบาลตำบลพระลับ และงานประเพณีหรือกิจกรรมต่างๆในแต่ละพื้นที่ที่เสนอเข้ามาในขณะนี้ให้เลื่อยออกไปจนกว่าสถานการณ์จะดีขึ้น”
