บริเวณสวนสาธารณะประตูเมือง ริม ถ.มิตรภาพ เขตเทศบาลนครขอนแก่น นายธีระศักดิ์ ฑีฆายุพันธ์ นายกเทศมนตรีนครขอนแก่น พร้อมคณะผู้บริหารฯ,สมาชิกสภาฯและเจ้าหน้าที่ ลงพื้นที่ตรวจสอบความเรียบร้อยในการประดับตกแต่งเมืองด้วยไฟนานาชนิดนับล้านดวง เพื่อต้อนรับฤดูกาลแห่งความสุขส่งท้ายปีเก่าต้อนรับปีใหม่และนโยบายการเปิดเมืองเปิดประเทศตามที่รัฐบาลกำหนด โดยคณะได้เริ่มจากการตรวจสอบการตกแต่งกระติ๊บข้าวเหนียว “ออนซอน ขอนแก่น” ซึ่งถือเป็นสัญลักษณ์ที่สำคัญของเมืองขอนแก่น ที่ขณะนี้การประดับตกแต่งเสร็จสิ้นไปแล้วกว่า 80% การตรวจสอบการติดตั้งโคมไฟรูปดอกคูณ สัญลักษณ์ของจังหวัดที่ติดตั้งอยู่บริเวณเสาไฟส่องสว่าง ทั้ง 2 ฟากฝั่งถนนตั้งแต่บริเวณสี่แยกประตูเมือง ไปจนถึงศาลเจ้าพ่อหลักเมือง ระยะทางประมาณ 600 เมตร การตกแต่งซุ้มประตูเมือง การติดตั้งน้ำตกออนซอนขอนแก่น และบริเวณภายในศาลหลักเมือง ที่คณะทำงานยังคงเร่งดำเนินการติดตั้งและทดสอบระบบไฟต่างๆเพื่อให้เสร็จทันตามระยะเวลาที่กำหนด
นายธีระศักดิ์ ฑีฆายุพันธ์ นายกเทศมนตรีนครขอนแก่น กล่าวว่า ขณะนี้การดำเนินงานมีความคืบหน้าไปกว่าร้อยละ 80 ซึ่งเป็นไปตามเป้าหมายที่กำหนดไว้ คือภายในวันที่ 20 ธ.ค. การประดับตกแต่งเมืองดวงดวงไฟนานนิดนับล้านดวง ในการแสดงถึงเทศกาลแห่งความสุขส่งท้ายปีเก่าต้อนรับปีใหม่ที่กำลังจะมาถึง และสนองต่อนโยบายการเปิดเมืองเปิดประเทศของรัฐบาล ที่ขณะนี้บรรยากาศการท่องเที่ยวแบบนิวนอมอลนั้นได้เกิดขึ้นแล้ว ภายใต้มาตรการป้องันตนเองของทุกคนที่เข้มงวดและคุ้นชินในแนวทางปฎิบัติ รวมไปถึงท่องเที่ยวแบบวิถีใหม่นิวนอมอล ที่งดการรวมกลุ่ม และการจัดกิจกรรมที่มีการชุมนุมกันเกินหว่าที่ ศบค.กำหนด ดังนั้นการเนรมิตพื้นที่ที่จัดกิจกรรมเคาท์ดาวน์ปีใหม่ทุกปี ที่ปีนี้แม้จะงดการจัดกิจกรรมต่อเนื่องเช่นเดียวกันกับปีที่ผ่านมาจากสถานการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้น แต่การประดับตกแต่งเมืองให้มีสีสัน ขานรับกับนโยบายการเปิดเมืองเปิดประเทศของรัฐบาล จึงยังคงต้องดำเนินการต่อไป ด้วยการจัดเตรียมพื้นที่ 5 ส่วนหลักที่สำคัญที่เชิญชวนให้นักท่องเที่ยวได้มาออนซอนขอนแก่น แม้จะไม่สนุกสนานรื่นเริงแต่ก็เป็นเมืองที่มีเสน่ห์และน่าหลงใหลและได้ถูกถ่ายทอดด้วยประติมากรรมไฟนานาชนิดจากความตั้งใจของเทศบาลฯ และจากความตั้งของคนขอนแก่น ที่จะร่วมเฉลิมฉลองต้อนรับปีใหม่แบบวิถีใหม่นิวนอมอลที่กำลังจะเกิดขึ้น
“ ออนซอน ถือเป็นภาษาอีสาน ภาษาถิ่น ที่นิยมใช้กันอย่างแพร่หลาย ซึ่งหมายถึงความมีเสน่ห์และน่าหลงใหล ดังนั้นการกำหนดแต่งเมืองภายใต้นิยามของคำว่าออนซอน ให้กับเมืองขอนแก่น “ ONZON KHONKAEN” ที่เริ่มจากกระติ๊บข้าวเหนียว สัญลักษณ์คู่เมืองขอนแกนมาอย่างช้านานที่ถูกตกแต่งด้วยไฟแสงสี และข้อความที่สวยงาม จะเป็นจุดถ่ายภาพที่สำคัญและสวยงามอย่างมาก และเมื่อมาถ่ายภาพที่กระติ๊บข้าวเหนียวแล้ว นักท่องเที่ยวยังคงเดินเที่ยวชมความสวยงามของดอกคูณ ที่ติดตั้งอยู่ที่เสาไฟสีโห ทั้ง 2 ฟากฝั่งถนน การตกแต่งประตูเมืองด้วยลายเส้น ที่คมชัดและข้อความสวัสดีปีใหม่ 2565 การตกแต่งน้ำพุออนซอนขอนแก่น และการประดับไฟภายในและโดยรอบศาลเจ้าพ่อหลักเมือง ทั้งนี้การประดับตกแต่งไฟดังกล่าวจะทำการติดตั้งและเปิดไฟตลอดทั้งเส้นทางไปจนถึงวันที่31 ม.ค.2565”
นายกเทศมนตรีนครขอนแก่น กล่าวต่ออีกว่า ตามประกาศของ ศบค.ที่กำหนดให้มีการคลายล็อคและอนุญาตให้แต่ละพื้นที่จัดกิจกรรมเคาท์ดาวน์ปีใหม่ได้ภายใต้มาตรการควบคุมอย่างเข้มงวด แต่เพื่อความไม่ประมาทและเน้นหนักเรื่องความปลอดภัยจากสถานการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้น เทศบาลฯจะยังคงงดจัดกิจกรรมเคาท์ดาวน์ปีใหม่ในปีนี้ แต่ยังคงไว้ซึ่งกิจกรรมทำบุญตักบาตรแบบวิถีไทยในวันที่ 1 ม.ค.เท่านั้น อย่างไรก็ตามจากจำนวนผู้ติดเชื้อโควิดที่ลดลง ทำให้ประชาชนและนักท่องเที่ยวกล้าที่จะออกมาใช้ชีวิตและร่วมกิจกรรมต่างๆมากยิ่งขึ้น ซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นถึงความสุข ความสนุกสนาน รอยยิ้มและเสียงหัวเราะของชาวขอนแก่นได้กลับมาอีกครั้งภายใต้มาตรการป้องกันตนเองและการปฎิบัติตนตามมาตรฐานความปลอดภัยด้านสาธารณสุขอย่างเข้มงวด
