สวนสัตว์อุบลราชธานี ตั้งอยู่ในพื้นที่เขตป่าสงวนดงฟ้าห่วน มีพื้นที่จำนวน 1,217 ไร่ ได้มีการกำหนดจุดเด่นของสวนสัตว์ คือ Jungle Park หรือการนำเอาสวนสัตว์เข้ามาผสมผสานกับความอุดมสมบูรณ์ของป่าภายในพื้นที่ โดยใช้การอนุรักษ์ และหาผลประโยชน์จากสภาพพื้นที่ป่าแบบลดการทำลายสภาพพื้นที่เดิมให้มากที่สุด จัดแบ่งส่วนแสดงสัตว์ เป็น 10 ส่วนแสดง ประกอบด้วย
1) ส่วนจัดแสดงสัตว์กีบไทย
2) ส่วนจัดแสดงกีบต่างประเทศ
3) ส่วนจัดแสดงสิงโตแอฟริกา
4) ส่วนจัดแสดงสิงโต
5) ส่วนจัดแสดงเสือโคร่งขาว
6) ส่วนจัดแสดงสิงโตขาว
7) ส่วนจัดแสดงเสือโคร่งอินโดจีน
8) ส่วนจัดแสดงเสือดำ-ดาว
9) ส่วนจัดแสดงสัตว์ทุ่งแอฟริกา
10) ส่วนจัดแสดงสัตว์ขนาดเล็ก (มินิซู)
นอกจากนี้ สวนสัตว์อุบลราชธานี ยังมีกิจกรรมให้นักเรียน นักศึกษา เยาวชน ได้เข้ามาศึกษาเรียนรู้เรื่องสัตว์ป่าและธรรมชาติ เพื่อให้เป็นแหล่งการเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิต และสอดรับกับนโยบายของรัฐบาลด้านการศึกษาให้เกิดการบูรณาทางกระบวนการเรียนรู้ที่เป็นสำคัญ พัฒนาให้เป็นศูนย์ส่งเสริมและพัฒนาการเรียนรู้ทั้งในระบบ นอกระบบ และตามอัธยาศัย มี 2 ประเภทกิจกรรม คือ (1) ประเภทไป-กลับ 1 วัน (2) ประเภทค่ายพักแรม 2 วัน 1 คืน
